Ministry at Cedarwood!

Thank you for looking into Cedarwood Church. We have been in the Apple Valley Area for 9 years and have various opportunities for your growth in Jesus Christ. Here is a current list of those growth opportunities.

  • Sunday Morning Worship:
  • 10:00 am @ Falcon Ridge Middle School. (Get Map on the Home page)

Sunday morning worship centers around contemporary worship and in depth looks into the Scriptures. We do not do music for music sake. We do music to exalt God and to humble ourselves in His presence. We then look into the word of God to be challenged and to grow in our faith. We invite all who are hungry to know God and His will for their lives to join us.

  • Children’s Church:

  • The children meet together after a combined worship with the adults for their own church service. The older kids help the younger kids. They memorize Bible passages and the bible books, they pray for each other and the Church, they are taught a scriptural lesson, they sing and they occasionally learn music and dramas to be presented to the Church. Kids love this format at Cedarwood!

  • Wednesday Night Bible Study for all ages:

  • During the School year we have a Wednesday night program for all ages centered around teaching the Bible. These are one hour classes for all ages from toddlers to Adults. We meet at 7:00 pm at Parkview Elementary School on Foliage Avenue 4 blocks south of Cty Rd. 46 just east of Cedar Avenue.

  • Youth Group:

  • We have a youth group led by adult volunteers who lead a bible study on Wednesday nights for this teen group. There are other activities and events that take place through out the year such as “The Great Pumpkin Hunt” in October and Christian concerts.

  • Prayer Ministries

  • Cedarwood has a prayer ministry available to our congregation. There are four areas where prayer is practiced as a ministry. First, every Sunday morning before our regular services people who want to pray for Cedarwood come together and pray. Second, if you have a desire to be prayed with we have a prayer ministry coordinator who will bring together people who pray with you before or after services or in your home. Third, you can contact our prayer ministry coordinator to send out prayer requests to those who are a part of the prayer ministry team or to all the Church if you wish, who will pray for you in their private times of prayer. Fourth, you can request a pastoral visit for prayer.

  • Men’s Group

  • The Men of the Church meet monthly for a breakfast and bible study. It is inspirational and a great time for gathering with the men of the Church. Their are other opportunities that come up like conferences and ministry projects that also build men’s ministries at Cedarwood.

  • Women’s Ministries

  • The women of Cedarwood meet monthly to minister to one another through Bible and Book Studies with a time of hospitality and fellowship. They also hold an annual retreat and schedule occassional opportunities for women through conferences or projects that encourage women at Cedarwood.

  • Worship Teams

  • Music is an intregal part of worship at Cedarwood Church. The sole purpose of worship is to humble ourselves before God and to exalt Him high above all else. We use contemporary and traditional music that accomplishes that end. Those with musical talent who are committed to the ministry of Cedarwood are encouraged to audition for worship teams. The worship coordinator determines placement based on talent, need and most importantly one’s consistent participation at Cedarwood.

  • Media Ministry

  • We have a strong and growing media ministry at Cedarwood for those who are computer savy or who have an ear for music and can blend the sound and sights of worship. We continue to improve our Web site and make daily devotions and sermons available on line or through pod casts. Technology gives us other different avenues to minister to people and we are always looking for new ways to get God’s message out.

  • Missions and Mercy Outreach

  • Cedarwood currently supports two important ministries in Africa and Southeast Asia. Our philosophy of ministry states that one of the reasons we exist as a church is to “extend His Grace to others.” We want to have an ever expanding involvement in evangelistic and mission oriented ministries with plans for sending short term help from this congregation to our missionaries when the opportunties and the resources are available. We also believe that Mercy Ministries are important aspects of being who God has called us to be and doing what God has called us to do. We support pregnancy crisis centers, food shelves and benevolent gifts from Cedarwood to those who have legitimate needs.
